Science behind

The tissue around the eyes has very few oil glands, it lacks the natural moisture present on other parts of the body. Also, because the skin around the eyes is very thin, it tends to be the first place to show signds of aging. The eye care should be gentle, non-irritating and it should provide enough moisture, antioxidant defence, and collagen boosters.

Plum Oil

The Plum Oil is at the same time a very rich, but is also a fast-absorbing oil, which makes it ideal for the thin, fragile and easily irritable skin around the eyes. It provides number of precious benefits for our skin:

+ Rich moisture and nourishment : high concentration in essential fatty acids, including Omega-6 (Linoleic fatty acid) and Omega 9 (Oleic fatty acid) which have highly emollient and moisturizing properties

+ Antioxidant defense : notable amount of Vitamin E (Tocopherols) which stops the production of free radicals when fat undergoes oxidation

Squalane

Squalane is one of the main component (about 13%) of skin surface fats. It is an excellent hydrator which is efficiently absorbed deep into the skin without leaving any oily residue.

Most importantly, also known for its antioxidant properties, squalane helps protect your skin by suppressing the free radicals that can cause age spots and premature aging.

Since squalane is a component of your skin's natural sebum, it is considered “natural protection agents” for all skin types.

Alga-Gorria

Different types of environmental stresses, like sun radiations, could cause an excessive production of highly reactive compounds called free radicals. This overproduction create an “oxidative stress” to the body which is not able to neutralize such amount of free radicals.

Antioxidants are necessary to neutralize these harmful molecules by either stabilizing them so that they don’t damage the body cells, or by breaking them down.

The Alga-Gorria, which is an extract from the red algae called Gelidium Sesquipedale, a potent antioxidant. The addition of such natural botanical antioxidant is beneficial as it helps further decrease UV-induced damage.

Alpha-Bisabolol

The Alpha-Bisabolol is the main component of Chamomile essential oil (around 40%). It contains Panthenol, a form of Vitamin B which has many great benefits for the skin :

+ It helps healing skin damages (dry, rough, chapped skin, mild burn, etc..)

+ It strengthens and renews the protective skin outer layers, which allow the skin to retain its moisture

+ It stimulates the proliferation of fibroblasts, the cells responsible of maintaining the skin firm and young looking (increase of the production of molecules involved in skin elasticity such as collagen, elastin, glycans).

Quinoa seed extract

Referred to as the ‘mother of all grains’ by the Incas, Quinoa was the core component of their diet. Since then, the Quinoa has made its way into the skincare area thanks to its valuable cosmetic properties :

+ Ultra nourishing : containing all 8 of the essential amino acids (bricks of proteins), it assists in the repair, protection and conditioning of skin

+ Anti-dark circle : according to clinical tests, the quinoa has proven effect in protecting the blood capillaries against oxidative stress induced permeability and distension, in limiting the formation of extra numbers of blood capillaries and in improving the skin elasticity

+ Antioxidant : the zinc contained in quinoa extract has an antioxidant role

How to use

After cleansing, use the tip of your finger and gently press the Eye Cream into the skin around each eye, working from the inner corners outward.
