Shea Butter
Compared to other oils, besides of being an unparalleled moisturizer, Shea butter has a large healing fraction (up to 17 times more than other).
How does Vitamin A (retinol) contained in shea butter ageing signs ?
+ By boosting the synthesis of the key molecule for skin moisture, the Hyaluronic Acid, which is able to bind water up to 1000 times its own weight!
+ By stimulating the synthesis of collagen (the scaffold providing strength and structure to the skin) by activating “pro-collagen” factors
+ Anti-inflammatory
Our skin could be exposed to many “stresses” like UV radiation, allergens, chemical irritation which triggers an overactivity of the body defense system. The overproduction of defense molecules cause considerable damage to the skin. One of the compounds found in the shea butter, Cinnamic Acid, has been shown to reduce skin inflammation.
Coconut Oil
+ Moisturizing :
The coconut oil is one the only natural source of medium-sized fatty acids. These molecules are small, which make them easily absorbed by the skin and hair. That’s why this oil provides amazing conditioning and moisturizing benefits.
+ Anti-acne :
Main fatty acid is the Lauric Acid, known for its anti-microbial properties (it can help stop bacterial growth on the skin over 15 times better than benzoyl peroxide, the most well-known chemical anti-acne substance!)
+ Hair protectant :
The hair dryness and breakage is mainly due to protein loss. One of the fatty acid from the coconut oil called lauric acid, is a small and light molecule able to penetrate deeply into the hair shaft providing an effective protection against damages.
The coconut oil is an excellent alternative to mineral oil used in hair conditioning products, against which it is shown to be more effective.
Warm it up in your hands, then massage into skin or hair.
Shea butter melts at body temperature and will become solid again when cool.
